WordPress can be used for online courses

If you have an online course that can be accessed freely by anyone, WordPress is a good alternative. Use normal Posts and Pages with content and links to relevant pdf’s and videos. In this spesific online course, they have uploaded their course videos to Youtube, and linked to them from the course Posts and Pages. Simple, and it works. Here is the course I am talking about:
* https://snac-research-ethics.w.uib.no/

In this course there is no user login. Any random person can post on each Post and Page. That is normally a risk since you might get spam. So it is important to use a spam control filter like Akismet.

From our experience Akismet really take care of 99% spam, and this is an experience we have had since 2008 when we first started running our WordPress localhost services.

  1. Honestly one of the better takes I’ve read on this.
    I was skeptical when I first saw AI Education Elphy because so many AI learning products are just summary generators in disguise. But then I fed it my interview prep notes and set a ten-day deadline, and the daily tasks were genuinely specific not generic advice like “review chapter three.” The adaptive quizzes caught what I kept messing up on too.

  2. Thanks for breaking this down, makes a lot of sense now.
    One useful feature on HSKWin is how missed questions tie straight back into your study log. When practicing HSK 3.0 vocabulary through mock exams and reading passages, every incorrect answer is saved to a built-in mistake book. The entry stays in your log with its full explanation until you manually mark it as learned. That prevents words you missed under test-day timing from slipping past unnoticed. It turns standard vocabulary drill into targeted error correction.

  3. Great tip! Using WordPress for online courses sounds so simple and effective. I like how they just link to YouTube videos and PDFs. Makes it easy for anyone to access. Thanks for sharing the example course too!
